How long can one stay if EP renewal is rejected?
How long can one stay if EP renewal is rejected?
Hello,
If someone has a valid EP till March 2013 and applies for renewal in Feb 2013 and the renewal is rejected how long can they stay in Singapore?
Can they continue staying in Singapore till the expiry of the valid EP they hold?
Appreciate any references or experiences from others.
Thanks.

Atleast it will keep ticking for 2 more years. For someone who is worried whether his/her EP will be renewed next month, I thought, would grab a 2 year deal with both hands.FaeLLe wrote:I always felt PEP is like a ticking timebomb... I wish I could sell my PEP, anybody wants?
Obviously! Ep validity wouldn't change unless your employer cancels the existing EP. EP renewal is for the time beyond the current EP expiry date and has no bearing for the time period for which you have obtained already.FaeLLe wrote:Called mom and they confirmed that validly of EP status is not affected by Renewal status.
EP Renewal applied on Friday, Approved on Monday.
Safe for 24 months
Thank you MOM.
Just to provide some background for others benefit.
My circumstances changed a lot since my previous renewal (which clearly stated I do not qualify under EP Renewal terms and they gave me a renewal of only 12 months).
- Designation changed due to promotion
- Salary hike of around 30% (base)
