Hiring a maid without NoA as my income certificate

Post by busyloop » Sat, 19 Jan 2013 1:49 am

It's been five months since I moved to Singapore, and now I'm planning to hire a maid at my condo. MoM's WP Online states that I need NoA (Notice of Assessment) as my income certificate to start hiring a maid. The problem is, since I came here last Aug, I haven't paid my income tax yet. According to the IRAS website NoA could be issued as late as this September. A bit too long to wait. WP Online also states that I can submit CPF (Central Provident Fund) contribution statements instead of NoA. But that option doesn't seem to help me either, since I'm an EP holder (not a Permanent Resident) who pays no CPF. I'm pretty sure that I'm financially qualified as a maid employer, but got stucked in proving that to MoM.
  • Are there any other means to certify my income w/o NoA, such as POSB deposit certificate?
  • Can I circumvent to submit NoA or CPF statements when I use a maid agency? (But I personally prefer not to use such agencies)
Thanks in advance...

Just get a letter from your employer confirming your salary. And give them a copy of your employment contract. We did that and it was fine.
