Good eats

I don't get out much. Got a friend coming to town next week - any really great restaurants in CBD/Arab Street area. Maybe Bistro style, bit of everything on the menu?

While it's no secret that the myth of great local food remains lost to me, I always like going to Arab Street, the vibe is great, the food is usually pretty good down there if you like Middle Eastern. There's a variety of places from Turkish, Lebanese, mixed Arabic, and others. Plus a Swedish restaurant.

But I think a bit of everything doesn't quite exist there unless you mean in separate restaurants, as there is a Mexican behind BluJaz, and BluJaz has passable western bar food.

Of course there is variety in CQ but I avoid that circus like the plague.

Boomarang on Robertson Walk is a Aussie place that might work, not the cheapest place but good for a crowd, but book it.

I've heard the Blujaz is good also. Nothing spectacular but solid performer. The Swedish place is called Fika, but i think its more of a cafe than restaurant.
