Visa Issues WHP - entry possible before IPA?

hey guys,

i just got an internship placement in Singapore and the job starts in about two weeks. Personally, that's not a problem, but the ministry of manpower estimates the processing time of the work visa to be about 21days.

So i was wondering if i could maybe enter the country with just a tourist visa and then collect the working holiday pass later on? Or do i need the IPA to enter the country first?

It depends on where you are coming from. If a western country, you can come in on a bog standard SVP (anywhere from 30 to 90 days depending on your country of origin. Some asian countries require visa or the IPA in hand.

So i could actually use a singaporean address to apply for a WHP-visa?

But you should under no circumstances start work before you have the WHP. That would be illegal and land you in deep trouble very quickly!
