stay at home dad seeks playdates for 2.5 yr old

Post by shaneblack » Sun, 13 Jan 2013 3:59 am

Just moved from USA and am looking for playdates for my son. We're an active family, love Botanic Gardens and all swimming pools, but are also up for new adventures. Would love to find other stay at home dads for socializing / chasing after the kids. My son also enjoys older kids.

Hi Shane

I've just moved to Singapore from the UK and am currently a stay at home dad with a 3 year old.
Where are you based?
My son also loves swimming!!

Hi I am James and I’m also a stay at home dad. I have found a great play group for my 2.5 year old boy. It’s at SAA Discovery Centre in Bukit Timah, they call it Happy Hub. The centre is amazing with many different corners for the young ones to explore. It’s 2 fun filled hours which my little man loves and there are also a couple of dads that join from time to time too. Anyway here’s the website and have look www.sa-discovery.com.sg/.

Hi James

What days do you tend to go to the centre?
It would be great to meet up with some other dads.
Can you go as and when or do you need to sign up for a term?

Thanks

Alex

Hi,

it is great to hear that there are also some dads staying home with their kids!
We are moving to SIngapore in AUgust and as I will be the working one, my partner is already worrying how to keep our 4 year old son busy all day.

I am another stay at home dad looking after 2 very active boys, 2 and 5. Just arrived from the US and trying to keep them busy until school starts. I can suggest a play date meet-up for this week at Botanical Gardens. Email me offline if you're interested. [email protected]

Also an Italian speaker if anyone else is interested in doing a language or soccer play date as well.

Thanks!

Anthony

Dear Anthony,

My name is Meera and I am writing to you on behalf of AWARE. We are a Women's Rights organization in Singapore and are interested in finding out more about stay-at-home dads as we believe this is one of the first steps to breaking gender stereotypes and hence achieving gender equality. With your permission, we would like to ask you a few short questions about your experience in being a stay-at-home dad in Singapore. If you would be interested in helping us out, do let me know. The interview will be very short and can even take place on the phone if you'd like.

Regards,

Meera
