I need to get an eye check and new reading glasses. Does anyone have information on recommended places to go, cost structure here or any other useful info?

Many Thanks

Any place in any mall should be decent enough. Everyone will give free exam, a bit under S$100 for lenses, then whatever frames you choose. I just bought two pairs, one Prada on Dec 29th, another Zegna on Jan 1st, to take advantage of insurance reimbursement per year(and I'm indecisive and couldn't decide which were nicer). Both about ~$S600 all in, and those are pricier frames.

If it is coming out of your pocket (and not insurance) and you want contacts, considering going to JB.

good ($) frames and quality ($) lenses last longer than the cheap sort. i like the service from paris miki at liang court and takashimaya.

you can get free eye exams and cheap glasses at queensway SC.

Excellent thank you, up until now I have gone cheap but thinking of spending a little more money this time.

Contacts, can't do it. I can't even put drops in my eyes let alone contact lens. Makes me shudder just thinking about it!

personally, i prefered the independent shop (like in a HDB estate) rather than those in shopping malls. definitely not anything that is in orchard road!
