Help! Where to get a babysitter for a few hours?

Post by cw1483 » Wed, 09 Jan 2013 11:13 am

Are there babysitting service or playgroups that I can leave my 4 year old for a few hours? I don't know anyone in Singapore and the one coworker referred me to this Auntie that does not speak any English to babysit (I am sure she is good, but my child can not understand her).

I just have to be away for 4 hours (but it is in the evening for 1 day on 17th of January from 7pm-11pm). Any advice on a good agency or babysitter that either come to my home near Admiralty MRT?

Thanks!

I managed to find one online a year or so ago with some googling. A young british girl looking for some part time work.
Now I'm called PNGMK

Please note that such arrangements as OSOD suggests above are technically illegal unless the babysitter has a proper residency permit allowing such freelance work (i.e. Singapore citizens or PR only).

My friend uses Kizroo & Mararoo based in Tanglin shaping centre. They are Singaporean ladies who are professionally trained. Another friend also used them when she first moved here. Not used them myself though

Do high school students babysit? or is that considered illegal as well?

Technically, yes.
