Actually, unless AWS is specifically written into your contract, it's optional for the employer to pay it. The only people who can claim AWS without it in the contract is with Union shops where the Union contracts customarily included AWS in the contract negotiations. In fact, since 1997 fewer and fewer companies are paying AWS.
