How much for monthly living costs?

Post by THE MAN WHO KNEW » Wed, 02 Jan 2013 1:15 am

Hi there,

I am considering moving to Singapore and it would be great if someone could let me know how much the average living cost is, including accommodation, healthcare, insurance, food, travel etc. I know all of this can vary by person, so below are a few of my requirements:

I want to live somewhere 'reasonable' and are not bothered on living somewhere very extravagant. I also dont mind living in shared accommodation.

The answer to this question is fairly important to me because I have financial commitments in the UK (mortgage etc) and want to work out if I could afford living out there, as well as comfortably covering my mortgage etc in the UK.

Cheers all!

Dear MAN WHO KNEW,

Since you have forgotten what you KNEW before, e.g. how to search a forum or google, here some pointers:

The average living cost, including accommodation, healthcare, insurance, food, travel etc., is between S$500 and S$10000 / month for a single guy, depending on your lifestyle and spending patterns.

The rent for somewhere 'reasonable', not very extravagant, and possibly shared, for a single guy, is S$800 - S$8000 / month, depending on type, size and location.

The search function of this forum is near the upper right corner of the page.

Now YOU KNOW.

Good luck and have a nice life!

There have been at least three posts in the past two weeks where single people have posted their detailed budget breakdowns. Specifically so people like you can search and find it for reference.

Yep, I agree with this, based on your requirements of having somewhere "reasonable". :O
