What I found when I tried internet dating, is that you get you get different strata of people. Some are genuine and dabbling. Some are terrible, and oversell themselves hugely. Some are just socially dysfunctional.
It was an eye-opener of an experience though, that's for sure! Would I recommend it [I'm sure I've said this before]? No, the respect and duration of any take-up is as short and fickle as your ad was short. Waaaay better to hook-up via friends, or via shared interests (London tennis clubs, if you're into tennis, are a good hook-up zone apparently!)
