At the risk of sounding like I have no friends here (and no, I'm not trying to be a SPG)....

I'm looking to widen my social circle, but there's a little bit of a chicken in me to turn up randomly by myself at FNDC events. If anyone is keen, we could meet up for lunch in Raffles Place area (perhaps someone who also turns up at FNDC event so I won't feel so weird if i DO turn up one of those Friday nights??).

My usual lunch spots are Joe & Dough, Salad Shop and the like (and I definitely enjoy my local duck rice and Ya Kun coffee too). so if anyone is as random out there, or just looking to have lunch companion, drop me a message. Either male/female companion appreciated, or if I receive enough responses we could meet up as a small group! Small group mainly because it's a pain in the arse looking for places to seat a big group during Raffles Place lunch hours.

Cheers

an interesting introduction!

I'm 27/m here, my office is at chevron house

It's hard trying to individually send private messages (and in a few cases, some people didn't even bother to respond). surprise *shock*

Has any one of you ever contacted anyone else in this thread, apart from waiting for me to 'hit you up'?

What I'm going to do is... I'm going out for Friday afterwork drinks this week. There will be at least a NZlander and a Sinkie, possibly add on one or two others. I've made reservations, so if you're dropping by, send me a PM and I'll provide you with my real name to ask for when you arrive.

Venue == Kinki rooftop bar (Customs House)
Time == 6.30pm
Date == 18 Jan 2012

I agree with you, trebleclef81; far too many people voice their interest in something and then just sit back and wait... for what? For someone to send them a personalized, embossed invitation to a party/gathering and then escort them from their homes to said event? And then fete them and shower them with confetti for showing up?

My philosophy is: If you want to do something, organize it yourself. If people come, great; if not, you still got to do the things you wanted to do, instead of sitting at home waiting to be "hit up."

Your philosophy is the same as mine, Slinger, though not word for word... :P

treble, I'll be coming around for drinks :) I'll extend your info to my "crew". As well as my thread....although, we're not even near our 30s yet...can we still come? :p
My thread...The Weekenders If you need my e-mail address, it's in the first post of the thread.

Akimbo, of course!! Join in. I was the odd one in her 30s who joined you at your 20s brunch at the place at East Coast.. can't remember the name of that place now (snail? slug?)... I still have your mobile no., I'll text you.

I have at least 4 people on the list now (good mix of males and females, all different nationalities)... keep it growing.

Trebleclef - just send you a PM. Thanks for organizing something.

I'll do my part to be proactive too. If anyone is free for lunch on Thursday, PM me today or tomorrow. I'll make a reservation at Boat Quay (either Dallas, Penny Black, Red Dot or somewhere else).

Yes, I'm in.

We can go to Boat Quay for some duck rice or curry chicken noodles.

Let me know.
