Buying a re-sale flat

Post by Angel » Fri, 17 Dec 2004 12:25 pm

Hi there,

Would like to seek adv from those who had experience buying a re-sale flat.....

We had just bought a re-sale flat recently in Woodlands. When we went to the house somewhere in August and decided to buy it, the house was in perfect condition (clean and tidy).

As the owner requested to delay the appointment date as they need time to look for a new place, the 2nd appointment took place this week. We had a house inspection early this week and to our horror......the light in bedroom crack, the bathrooms are in pretty bad condition (the flush and shower spoilt), the master room window crack and the air-con controller is not working.

When we bought the house, we had a mutual agreement whereby the owner need to rectify the wardrobe and cabinet but he did not even do that.

When we reject to proceed with payment, we had been getting reply from our agent that we cannot do that as the owner has no responsibility to make sure things are in working condition.

Anyone facing the same problem before, please advise what we can do now.....thks!

I've bought one, wardrobes, cabinets, all spoilt, doors, windows cannot closed, too rusty, leaking ceilings in toilets, pipes leakings, owner don't rectify.

coz no cash involved. so spend alot on renovation, as i thought house near mrt hard to get.
