A little help on two salaries please - Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I currently work as a Mechanical Foreman and will shortly complete my HNC in mechanical Engineering (11/11 Distinctions). I also have 6 years experience.

My wife is currently Assistant head of a well known private school and has a MA in Educational Leadership. She has 7 years experience.

So, my question... What is the current rate (Approx) for an assistant / Deputy Head and a mechanical engineer. I know people will tell me to look online, but so far I've yet to find two figures remotely the same!!

The second question... What is the current cost for living? I can find the rental prices obviously however I'm unsure of daily living costs such as utilities etc.

I'm sure this question is often asked and I therefore say thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light.

Can't help you on the first, but the second?

The median household income in Singapore is around 7K/mo. The median Income in Singapore is around 5K/mo. I know people who make less than 5K/mo and manage to save 20% or more of their disposable income. I also know people who make 25K/mo and cannot make ends meet. Without knowing you lifestyle, there is no way we can assist you except by saying have a good search of this forum as it's been discussed umpteen times every month for the past 8 years.
