Both parents work, but preschool on school holiday?

Post by dpot » Fri, 30 Nov 2012 9:38 am

My wife and I both work full time, and we want to shift our 3yr old to a new school (unhappy with the present one he's been at for 1.5 yrs). Anyway, we like many of the private schools, but they seem to have a month off in July and another break between terms.

We don't have a helper, and don't really want one. However, is there an option for kids in these schools to attend an all-day enrichment programme during these term breaks?

Surely there must be programmes like this out there, but I cannot seem to find any in SG, and so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Have you consider childcare service? It open all year long, except for few approve holiday (around 7-10days in a year).

Thanks, yes, it looks like this is the route we'll have to travel. There were things that we liked about some schools, but the holidays were a problem. Not sure what working parents without a maid (or relatives here) do once their kids enter kindergarten and above...I suppose quit their job or get a maid...seems like there should be a better alternative.
