Single guy (30): (higher) education & Raffles profession

Post by UKguyinSG » Tue, 27 Nov 2012 5:22 pm

Single guy (30) from England just moved to Singapore.

I am on here to get to know people for social activities and make some professional contacts.
Would be particularly interested to hear from people who work in (higher) education and professionals who work at Raffles. I have a higher education background myself and I am due to start work at Raffles.

I can't send messages yet (too few posts!) so please PM your contact details and I'll get in touch.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

John

Hi John, welcome to the forum.

I see the 'welcome committee' already rolled out the booze-soaked carpet for you. So hold your nose, and step over them on your way in ;)

This forum is quite good for social activities. There are purely social meet-ups, at restaurants etc, every couple of months, and people will and do organise or discuss here side-activities (i.e. 'Is anyone else interested in hiking (or say) scuba (or) cookery etc, as we're thinking of a, b, c?')

So I'd suggest you just get your feet under the desk and read for a while. Use the Search button too to look back for topics of interest to you. Go along to one of the regular group meet-ups... poll opinions both here and there.

p.s. In your shoes I might also search professional type sites like Linked-In.

Best of luck!

Yeah, it sure sounds like a lot of spirited beverages have been injected into our always pleasant OSOD. Or should I say just a bit more than usual?
