i don't need my blackberry anymore and terminated the service today. i don't want to carry that damn thing with me for at least a few months either.
i spent the past 2 hours looking for a simple cell phone after firing up my old nokia 6100 to a wonky screen.
do they exist? talking to cell phone sellers, they said the small cheap nokia phones don't work very well (lousy voice quality, bad recept, etc).
having seen some of my friends use them when they go into the army for reservist, i have to agree.
the closest thing i've found is a NOS nokia 8800 arte but that's like $400... smart phone territory.

My wifes motorola dies the other day - over six years old. She's in despair becaue she can't stand any of the new phone designs or functionality and the motorola would beep to remind her of missed SMS and phone calls which she loved!

I am not exactly sure what are you looking for but small, simple, regular size non-smart phones can be easily bought from many post offices or petrol stations. Typically their cost is in the sub-$S100 range.

I recall 7-11 sold them (not sure if they still do).
But I still see some old cell phones in several small dealers around HDB.

Got the
Nokia C2-01 for 65 bucks in...would you believe it, Sim Lim.
It's alright. Decent quality. Dual sim--sim 2 is hot-swappable.
If you want a phone that you can put in your wallet, maybe this is alright:

i see those 7-11 phones regularly, but i've been told by phone shop dudes and people that have bought them that these are budget phones meant for developing nations, and the quality is, overall, lousy.
singaporeans buy them primarily for temporary use during reservist and put up with it due to military restrictions on smart phones.
having been on the other end of some of those cheapo phones, i think it's $50-$100 down the drain coz i'd hate using the phone because the call quality sucks.
i'll poke around some more and just suck it up and get one if i can't find something suitable...!

Go to the shop off race course road !!!
for sub-100 $ (and which is cheaper than 7-11 or any place .. ) you will be spoilt for choices - and I know 7-11 and Shell are expensive ..
Picked up a Nokia C5 - for 150 and a few Nokia C2-01/02/03 below 100 $ as gifts, all going good and perfecto ..
And how about this ?
