How to advertise my Android apps.

Postby cooldude » Sat, 24 Nov 2012 1:56 am

Hi Guys,

I have a couple of Android apps written by me. However, they are lost in the 400,000+ apps on Google Play.

Any ideas on how to advertise my app?

I was thinking that a cheap option would be to distribute flyers around City Hall/ Raffles place. Flyers are cheap, around $200 for 4k. If I get some downloads, then it will improve my apps visibility.

Regards,
Vipul

Well, I thought it was a general "business" oriented question. Oh well...

there're forums for everything these days. isn't there an android app developer singapore forum some where out there? this definitely isn't it.

there's no use in printing flyers if people are just gonna crumple it and throw it away.

what's your purpose in distributing flyers in CBD?

do your apps have anything to do with city hall/raffles place? (eg, "Where to buy the best Android apps in Singapore CBD app for smart phones" or "Singapore CBD for Dummies app"???)

maybe you should google for marketing advice.

Mitch Hedberg said it best:

Thanks guys. I did Google, but none of the tips I found seem to have worked.

Flyers in CBD because that is where I expect to find my clients.

Google ad words. I hate flyers. I won't buy from anyone polluting the environment with flyers.

maybe you can PM the other android app developer on the forum in a thread a little below this one. he's swedish though (i think).

i don't think you're gonna get much help from this forum on marketing your apps...

btw, you can set a limit on how much to spend on google ads (eg, $25 a day or 20 clicks or whatever - i can't remember) so it's not as crazy as you think.

plus singapore's small, so maybe the search string will be cheap.
