Young 25 year old male, where should I live? (help)

Post by Youngen22 » Sat, 24 Nov 2012 1:35 am

Hello everyone,
There seems to be plenty on this forum about families relocating. What about a young person who is relocating and wants to experience the most vibrant parts of Singapore.

My work is in shendon way tanjong pagar station. My budget is around 2 to 3k as my salary is only 80k pr year.

I don't mind moving somewhere further just to have a nice place and do short taxis to nice areas. I prefer not travel more than 30 mins for work.

Anyways I appreciate your help and assistance. May I return the favour by writing a feedback on the winning tip.

If you need a 2 bedder condo, you will need to shell out 3k atleast. If you ok with a studio condo you can do with 2.5k at a really far off place like Telok Kurau or Kovan are where new condos have just topped.

Otherwise you will have to settle for a 2 bedder HDB which can be got in most places for less than 2.5k.

With a salary of 80k I will try my rent to be as close as possible to 2k. Good luck :)

Share a room near the Boat Quay or East Coast area.
Now I'm called PNGMK

There is also plenty on this forum about singles/kid-less couples who were looking for a place in some more bar/pub friendly location unless you assumed they were some old 26 year old males and it it's not applicable.

consider living temporarily in a shared flat with a single roommate. room rentals are likely to be around the 900-1500 range.
You could then make a decision to move elsewhere after you've got a feel of the place.

I have been told about Dover and clementi area. I think I will live there. As for budget I would like to keep it under 2.5k so HDb it is. Unless my Singaporean friend moves in with me and her budget is around 600-800.

So a potential 3.2k for possibly a condo or a nice hdb.

Thanks for your replies everyone
