Moving my 2 cats to Singapore

Post by Elle36 » Mon, 19 Nov 2012 10:47 pm

Hi, we are moving to Singapore in March 2013 and I'm looking at renting a condo in Sentosa, however can you tell me are cats widely accepted when renting a property? They are 2 pedigree pussies, who don't go out and are very clean. Also, I've asked for a quote from Petair UK - can anyone recommend a good company I can use and also will they have to go into Quarantine - as far as I know they won't. many thanks :D

We're still in process of relocating with one indoor cat. We only looked at condos. We made sure our agent knew to cover the cat issue before showing us an apartment. Only one owner didn't want pets.

As far as quarantine, I don't know what the policy is for non-US pets, but coming from Boston, there are very strict rules re: vaccines, etc. in fact, I'm still at home because our cat had the wrong rabies vaccine. Will write up my experiences when we're all finally there.

Good luck with your move!!

We used PerAir - expensive (for a dog) but very thorough and all went to plan. Just be prepared to spend about 3 hours when you go to collect them. You have to go to lots of buildings to collect lots of stamps to collect your pets. Thankfully, I had a very understanding taxi driver.

Where exactly are you moving from? That will determine the quarantine requirement.

You should definitely be able to find a place where you can have your cats. Get your agent to help you out.

Good luck with the move. :)
