Condo Opinions (orchard)

Post by xxmicxx » Thu, 08 Nov 2012 5:02 pm

Guys

Interested in your opinions on the following condos that we may look to move into:

Nomu: http://condo.singaporeexpats.com/condo/2396/NOMU
The Cathay: http://www.singaporeexpats.com/singapor ... dences.htm

I would be moving into a 2 bedder. I like the locaton, the convenience to the MRT and the places look good too.

Any of you guys lived there, been there, have any opinions about the place?

We = young professional couple with a small dog - no kids.

M

Many moons ago I used to live in a condo called Sophia Court on Mount Sophia (road). It got bulldozed with the neighbouring condo to make way for the new Cathay condo complex.

I'd say...

- great location! Right in the hubba yet up on the hill away from all the noise.
- Make sure if you live up there the condo has some access to lifts down to Orchard (for Dhoby ghat MRT), as you are going to get seriously P'd off walking up/down there the long way a few times a day! The Cathay cinema has such lifts too - then you walk up via their multi-storey carpark - but I'm not sure if you should depend on them always being there for your use.

You cannot get much more central than that. But check the facilities like the size of the pool (it won't be huge in these new places I'm sure). And consider that the pool area (or lack of) is where you're likely to do a lot of your non-work socialising. In other words: The friends I hung out with were made poolside at home rather than in the office.
