How to "scrap" your motorbike after COE expired ?

Post by Ben80 » Wed, 07 Nov 2012 12:39 am

Hi
My motorbike's COE going to be expired soon.
I dont want to renew or to sell it, since the bike's condition is so poor.
( a 20 years old Honda CG125 )
I heard that you have to "scrap" it.
So where, how, and how much to do that ?

A lot of second hand dealers will help out. They calculate how much the rebate (if any) is using onemotoring.com.sg and then decide if they'll pay you for any 'body' value. In the case of your old bike you're probably going to have to give it to a dealer for free. Make sure you get the paperwork to say they've taken it over.

If you don't want the hassle of towing Ur bike to the scrap yard or doing all the work, just call up any dealer and ask if they can scrap it for you. These dealers probably takes most of the parts from ur bike and will tow it to the scrap yard themselves. I scrapped my kips last year. I didn't pay anything. Just signed the paperwork. They'll even come to your place andtakethe bike.

I remember there are scrapyards who will take the motorbike. I think in the West or North. Just ride there with the correct paperwork and they will take it in. Here is some info:

Scrapping your motorcycle requires a few actions after its Certificate of Entitlement (COE) expires. The car should first be deregistered with the Land Transport Authority (LTA). Next, locate a licensed scrapyard to properly dispose of it. To ensure legal compliance, they will provide a Certificate of Destruction (COD). Finally, turn in the license plate of the car to the LTA. Scrapping guarantees legal compliance and sustainability of the environment.

More useless AI shit made against a post that's more than 10 years old. We ought to set up a voting process to determine whether such posts get whacked. Damned if I know why "Harper99" wastes the time to post this crap.

@Strong Eagle We do have a voting process. Time to start using the Mods Forum again. I've been summarily deleting the obvious AI posts for the past several months (just before I went to Georgia). Those that are obvious and just reiterate what already been said in the thread, I just whack especially if it is an initial post as it's pretty obvious.

Sadly, the usage of Cloudflare to mask IP addies just give the AI crap free reign. And virtually makes it impossible to keep the board clean from trolls, bots & Spammers.

If your admins were competent, they could mostly eliminate this spam. Many other forums have 100x the traffic of this one. Do you think they have 100x the spam?

But I guess it's nice to give the admins a sense of purpose. Singapore is damn boring after all.

We keep it this way so you have something to bitch about.

However, we'd be happy to accept your resignation.
