To follow-up on my last link post in this thread, here's a surprising new one:
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/your-view--%E2 ... 04236.html

I haven't even read the comments yet but I can just imagine.

Not sure if sarcastic or just blunt.

The link you posted, has reference to another link about the opening of a Filipino joint:
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/comment--xenop ... 22168.html

I am really shocked, that opening of a Filipino joint can cause so much of attraction? What about the whole of little India? Agreed that Indians is a major race here, but do you think majority of the Indian restaurants close to Mustafa area cater to local Indians?

The only restaurants I have seen local Indians patronising are the likes of Muthus curry, everything else caters to the migrant Indian workers

I don't get it, at this rate no new business establishment from any other country can set up shop here.
I checked out the yahoo Singapore's Facebook page, it's filled with hatred and vitriol.

and to add to WD40's observation, I've seen a lot of Chinese frequenting Kailash Parbhat in Little India of late.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

Ah, but you see, on the vast SG internets like HWZ there's a dynamic list of 'cool' countries (Japan, SoKo, HKG, TW) and 'uncool' countries (MY, Indon, Phil, India, all of the Middle East and Africa, many Ang Moh lands etc). Only businesses from the Cool list are welcome. All others kindly GTFO, Thank You very much. :D

Good point! I agree! I have read many of the comments in those sites and the locals here treat Honkies, Taiwanese, Japanese, S Koreans as one of their kind. Japanese because of their restaurants, automobiles etc, Taiwanese and Honkies again for their food. Koreans because of their K-Pop and Dramas etc.

Something to do with the majority race here

TBH, this kind of juvenile SoKo/Japan/TW worship is mostly restricted to the younger internet crowd. It's quite ironic because the Koreans and Japanese don't hold the locals in very high regard.

Cultural wannabe peasants.

Why the surprise, just look at how they dress, unattractive people in fake/$hitty copies of quality clothing.

It's a pastiche. Just they (seemingly alone) don't realise it.

It's a good point to remember that local companies, the government and ergo the locals themselves only have themselves to complain about IF they are not happy. Foreigners are here, as with just about any other country, basically on an invite and I just wonder how the Singaporeans living in the US, Europe, China and the Philippines, for example, would think about leaving and coming back.

There is more news about the opening of Jolibee and the boycott calls:

http://www.tremeritus.com/2013/03/12/fi ... list-blog/

The people who are calling for its boycott are really dumb, because, this restaurant has been opened in Lucky Plaza which is also known as little Philippines. I am sure they are mainly targeting the expatriate Filipinos and wouldn't give a rats ass if locals don't patronize it.

Just to show how stupid the folks at TRE actually are, the allowed the post originally without checking the facts. The fact of the matter is that as it's a service company, only a maximum of 45% of the staff can be foreigners and that will be further reduced to 40% come July 1st, 2013. So it looks like the idiots at TRE got some more egg on their faces. Stupid is as stupid does. The readers of TRE are as dumb as the site owners.

Every time I read a TRE article it's hard not to cringe reading some of the comments on there, made by people with low intelligence with little grasp of the subject.
I attribute this to the low standards/methods of education here.

You mean you don't enjoy reading well articulated posts such as this:
you must have failed your pri 6 engeesh, we are not rascist, we are fedup why ft company employs their own fts publicly?

doesn’t it prove they create jobs for their own people? n not singaporeans?

is not jialiaobee creating their own racial enclave? a rascist will call others rascist.
:D

Whenever my faith in the human race goes up a notch, I head over to TRE to put it to test. Boom...back to baseline in the blink of an eye lol.

Raj, you would be surprised to know the number of highly educated people who comment there. High IQ, but minimum EQ.
