Eyelash Extensions

Post by jcarta » Thu, 25 Oct 2012 3:49 pm

Hi. I had eyelash extensions done at Far East Plaza last month. They looked fine but they felt very heavy on my eyelids and were a tad itchy. I always felt like I 'noticed' them and felt them there. They eventually fell off while I was USA on vacation.

While I was in USA, I got another full set of extensions. They feel significantly different, so much lighter, I hardly notice them, and the adhesive doesn't make my eyes itch. I called Browhaus to make an appointment for a fill in, because I feel like the quality might be better than the little shop I went to in Far East plaza. They told me they would have to remove them all and start over with a full set because they use a different adhesive. UGH!!

So I guess my question is, does anyone know of a reputable place to have a fill-in for lashes that were put on outside of Singapore? Has anyone else encountered this? I hate to pay all of that money to start over. :(

Thanks!!

I'm from Sydney and have enjoyed amazing Japanese silk extensions for the past 2 years... lightweight, perfectly placed... can anyone recommend a place in Singapore?

Hi. I was the originator of this post and I saw your question and thought I'd give an update. I ended up getting a full set of strand by strand lashes at Browhaus in Raffles City. The lashes they use are horrible. So stiff and hard, like plastic. I asked them if I bought my own silk lashes from the US if they would apply them and of course they said no. So I found a place called Lolita in Marina Square that uses a US brand adhesive and lashes. The lashes are so much better and softer and more natural looking. Not hard and don't hurt my eyes like at Browhaus. They are pretty expensive though, $179 for full set. And I feel like the lashes fall out more then the Browhaus lashes, but that's probably because they are more delicate, so it's a trade off. I'll go back though, they didn't glue the lashes to my eyelids either like at Browhaus. They place them close but not directly on your lid so they don't hurt the eyelid. Next time I might ask them to go a little bit longer though, just for a more dramatic look. Please if you find a place you like, do let me know. It sounds like we are interested in the same type of lash! Thanks!

hello! I have also found Lolita since my last post. Pretty happy with them ... not quite as soft and silky as the Japanese lashes but at least I feel comfortable with them :) I will also ask them to go a little longer next time. If I find another contender I will let you know!

:)

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I am curious to hear back from you how you felt the Lolita lashes stayed on? I really liked them but felt they fell off very easily. I"m curious what your experience is with them. Please do let me know.

I'm taking a break for a few months because after I let my Lolita lashes fall off, my own lashes were weak, short and brittle. I attribute this to 2-3 months of consistent extensions and I do think the hard plastic lashes from Browhaus really weakened them. I bought a serum and have been using that to help them grow back and grow in stronger before re-applying the extensions.

I found another place at Star Vista mall called High Brow. At some point I will make it out there and visit and see what type of lashes they are using and will revert back and let you know.

hello! looks like I'll get about 3 weeks out of them... but I'm also quite meticulous when it comes to not sleeping on my face, cleaning carefully. I've been wearing extensions for about 2-3 years non stop... but I also use serums to help the natural lashes stay healthy. Lolita have an aftercare product which is quite good for removing makeup and oils that are good for the lashes.

I went longer this time and I'm quite happy with them. Ally is the therapist that I go to... maybe has something to do with how they applied (ie. falling off quickly?). There's also a Japanese therapist there I noticed she's always booked out so I'm guessing she's the best :)

Good luck!

Thank you so much for the feedback that is very helpful! My lashes seem to have grown back nicely in taking the time off so I'm going to try to go back after Chinese New Year and get them re-applied. I'll try Ally or the Japanese girl. You are going to the one in Marina Square?

I still havent' made it out to High Brow yet to see what quality lashes they are using but I will post when I do. Thanks again for the feedback it's very helpful!

Look for this sweet looking and gentle lady call xiao yue in far east plaza at Milly's. Forgot the unit no but is on level 3.

Last month my colleague ( regular for 2 years ) recommended me to Milly's and i fall in love with the place. The staffs there are very friendly and bubbly, saw a lot of good reviews of their services online as well. www.millys.org

I tried my silk lashes and gelish nails on my first visit, till date 3 weeks and it is still in very good condition. Planning to do a gel extension next week.

Jcarta, I was just wondering if you've managed to check out High brow yet at Star vista? I'm very curious how their lashes are. I want to do extensions for the first time, but i definitely want a reputable place with good skill, no plasticy, uncomfortable lashes!

Hi! no, sorry, I haven't gotten out there yet. I had to take a few months off of lashes since my were so weak and brittle from the last rounds of lashes. I've been using serum to get them back to full growth. I will definitely post when I do! It's still on my to-do list to get out there! :)

I still recommend Lolita. Price is higher but the lashes are nice. I think I just ended up with my lashes being too brittle from Browhaus that the Lolita lashes didn't stand a chance and fell off quicker than I would have liked. :)

There are so many types of eyelashes nowadays. Got korean, japanese, 3D & 6D. Quite confusing.

Browhaus sucks ! I been going to Lavande at Pioneer Mall for more than 2 years . Naturally i do have long lashes. however since i tried extensions i love it. I was going to travel soon and was lazy to go to Pioneer so I called Browhaus at Holland V. First of all there is only girl doing the extensions.
She asked me which lash do i want, well yes they told me to remove my previous lashes before i come. I told her i am not sure but they did it lash by lash at Lavande, So she did for me the Cluster lash. it was done within 45 min.. I did ask her how come at Lavande they take full 2 hours but the therapist didnt explain to me well. the lashes were hard, the glue was itchy, and it kept poking at the sides. It wasnt comfortable.

When i went back to remove, i felt a little pull on the my eye lid. So when she was done I looked at myself in the mirror and i noticed that i had my original lashes pulled too . I felt very upset and asked the therapist why do i look like i have no lashes, and she just said "Maybe you removed the cluster lashes and you feel diferent.

I felt ugly. I went back to Lavande and showed them, The therapist at Lavande is very patient and a honest girl. She told me they have used thick and hard lashes and now there are " Holes " and my original lashes have been pulled off when they were removing. I was shocked. I had to buy Revitalash and use, now within 2 months my lashes have started growing back again. WIl never recommend Browhaus.
