DP for baby born abroad

Post by bhoy » Tue, 23 Oct 2012 7:33 pm

Currently here on PEP with the family all on DPs. Wife decided to have our latest progeny abroad (Thailand) a couple of weeks ago, and now comes question of how best to obtain a DP for the wee fellah. He'll obviously soon get a Thai passport but not sure what to do then - the MoM site is not at all clear.

You would do the same way you have applied for dependent pass for your family here and submit a dependent pass for for your newborn. Application is at:
http://www.mom.gov.sg/Documents/service ... Form12.pdf

Note, a baby born in Thailand does not necessarily mean he/she will have a Thai citizenship (depends if baby has Thai descent). Baby born to foreigners in Thailand without Thai descent is assumed to follow citizenship of birth parents.

Get the baby a passport, then submit the form to MOM.
