Regular Working Hours & Days at NTU (Faculty)

Post by hikarikosemura » Mon, 22 Oct 2012 12:38 pm

Dear All,

I apologize if this is a question that has already been asked and answered. I was not able to adequately locate them in the forum and thought I'd try to ask here.

I'd like to find out if anyone can point me to the direction of finding answers or if you can provide me with any information on the regular working hours expected of a faculty at NTU?

Do they practice a 5 day work week or a 5.5 day work week (ie: Half day on Sat?).

Thank you in advance for your assistance and time.

Best,

The official working week in Singapore is still 44 hours a week. Many business's have realized the cost of opening a half day on sat is compounded by the poor productivity on a sat morning. My last employer had everyone working a 9 hour weekday with extra time at lunch or breaks to get around this problem. I'm not sure what NTU practice though.
Now I'm called PNGMK

It depends on what are you doing there. Administrative roles or research/teaching roles?

@offshoreoildude - Thanks for the info you've provided.

@the lynx - What's the difference between the two? Is it 5 days for Administrative and 5.5 days for faculty (teaching)? Or the other way around?

Thanks
