I found a nice looking conservation house for near near Peya Labar MRT station and then I started using Google Earth to cruise around. I see its right near Geylang street which I am told is hooker central

However as I cruise with Google earth, it LOOKS like a pretty cool area with lots of street eats and many quiet side streets with more terrace houses etc.like Geylang Lor 39 / 41 etc etc. Plenty of little parks etc too.whats the actual go on living in that area ? I am coming from Cambodia so seedy stuff goes straight over my head / doesn't bother me and I doubt very much its as out there in Singapore as it is here. Geylang Road itself looks like a pretty interesting strip of restaurants etc but that's only on Google !

What a coincidence, we are currently discussing about living in Geylang in the other thread! Check it out.

It's poorly done though. The rate is so low anyone who has looked for more than a day will spot that.
