Although I'm staying around Jurong West, I still prefer to go to GV at Jurong Point or Tiong Bahru, not JCube's Shaw or GWC's GV (never tried both of them) :P

Some of my friends said that Shaw at Orchard is too cold, but I'm still comfortable with it.

I think 22 degree was the number recommended by MM Lee, for efficient output of govt staff ..

SmS may recall what exactly his words to that effect were ..

Thanks ecureilx, actually that reminds me of something related -

that common myth that cold makes people work better or stay awake in meetings.

While of course no one works well when it's too hot and people will get drowsy then, too cold makes the (mine, anyway) brain shut down.

But still, every time there is internal training, in perpetuating the myth they crank up the air con and it becomes an uncomfortable, and for me, unproductive, ordeal.

22 used to be perfect when I lived in California. (Note the iphone is always a sunny 23c for a reason!). Now, Singapore has made me week. This past week in Beijing I was running around in my 3/4 long cashmere coat, and a few times with a breeze I was still freezing. this was 16-20c. Hell, back in Chicago we'd be wearing shorts and tshirts at 16!!

Yeah, but without it I was cold! It only came off while hiking up the gw, and then after about 5 drinks at the bar :P

Oh haha. Actually it is a great coat. It's one of those from Shanghai Tang that looks like it came from letting a nice designer loose on Kim Jong-Il's wardrobe. I had a few coworkers say "Wow you are really Chinese!" hah. Wish it was cooler in Singapore so I could wear it more :(

I think all the cinemas are way too cold, and I'm pretty sure they're set lower than 22. There's nothing worse than being sat directly under a unit. I always take a shawl to put on but still end up shivering 3/4 way through a film.

I have complained at the Cathy before but the staff tell me the temperature is set for the whole building and they can't change it. Very much doubt this is true.

Outside of this Jcube place, which I've never been to, has anyone ever been to a theater that was too warm here?

Not not cold, but actually uncomfortably hot?

(I haven't)

I've never been to Jcube's IMAX but all cinemas that I've been to are always Siberian cold. To list out a few: Plaza Sing, The Cathay, Cathay Cineleisure, IMAX Shaw, Vivo City, Tiong Bahru Plaza, Jurong Point, Causeway Point, Junction 8...
