I thought if it's fun to talk to someone, no matter LGBT or straight, it's a big OK

Just go straight then you can make new friends! Even better it won't mean engaging in illegal acts!

Ah, well. I forget Singapore still won't fully accept LGBTQ.

They never will while they live in (a realistic) fear of not having grandchildren. We don't have to be PC in Singapore about your lifestyle.

And a lot of people seem to have an obvious lack of prudence and lateral thinking. Being PC will just confuse the hell out of a lot of people with multiple-word modifiers.

The fact that I can tell a ghey man - 'I don't like you, I don't like your lifestyle, I don't like your homosexual friends and I don't want you anywhere near my son' and NOT be prosecuted for a hate crime is one of the reasons I love Singapore.

Politically Correct. It's a decade long fad sweeping the west. It means that you cannot directly criticize certain lifestyles, religions, women etc without fear of offending someone or some group and being prosecuted for discrimination or offensive language. To give you a simple answer - a 'policeman' is now a 'police person' in Australia. A faggot is now a 'person of alternate sexual choice'. Yaddda yadda. All it becomes is a restriction on freedom of expression where everyone is afraid to say anything. We see a little of the same in Singapore with respect to criticism of the sitting gahmen.

Since the birth rate is a little bit depressed, this kind of freedom is "expensive" in Singapore. But to be fair, I guess it's hard for LGBTQ to be fully accepted in "eastern world"
