Beauty Therapy Career

Post by arunmagic » Wed, 03 Oct 2012 12:01 am

Hi All,

My wife will be coming over to Singapore from India in Jan 2013 and is interested in pursuing a career in beauty therapy. She has small amount (<1 year) experience and has a done some certificate courses in India on beauty treatment.

I wanted advice on the following:

Will she be able to find a job with her current qualifications in Singapore?

Are additional certifications helpful? Which one would be better (CIBTAC or CIDESCO)? Any well known institutes in Singapore for this?

Is it almost a mandatory requirement to be well-versed in mandrin for this field in Singapore?

Are foreigners(dependent pass holders) generally allowed to work in this field?

Thanks in advance

The answers to all your questions are mostly, NO.

Beauty parlours are one business that MOM generally won't approve.
