Best taxi app for Android and iPhone
Best taxi app for Android and iPhone
I would like to ask what the best Singapore taxi apps for Android and iPhone respectively are. They could also be what you are currently using on your phone. I have an Android phone and I am currently using ComfortDelgro official app but I am not perfectly happy with it.
Any good recommendation will be much appreciated. Thanks !!

gothere.sg for Android
This is slightly off topic ... hope you guys are cool with that.
gothere.sg for Android is available on google play now. The app allows you to get driving direction, bus guide and also Calculate the cost of your taxi ride.. of cuz also telling you best route to your destination.
That should be quite helpful if your driver isn't sure how to get to a place... and you can know how much it is roughly going to cost.
Do try it!

I assume you're the developer.. Just so you know, the "Developer's page" link is broken from Google Play right now. I get an error that www.bynode.com can't be resolved.
Re: gothere.sg for Android
There are actully two gothere.sg apps in the Google Play Store - both of which are unofficial - the one you mentioned (are you Aaron Chan or affilliated with Bynode Apps by any chance?) and this one:accom wrote:This is slightly off topic ... hope you guys are cool with that.

Both seem to have mixed reviews. I just installed both of them and the immediate thing I noticed is that the one I mentioned above doesn't ask for location permissions; hence it can't auto-populate the 'From' field in the search window. It does however have a 'Share' function so you can send the route via email, Whatsapp, etc. - the other app doesn't seem to have this feature.
The one accom mentioned has an irritating 'feature' of asking you to enable GPS every time you switch back to the app. Sometimes I will want GPS on; other times I won't (to save power) and a coarse location from wifi and cell data will be good enough. So the constant pestering about this is rather tedious.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to try out these two apps over the coming days.
Be careful what you wish for

Thanks for trying it out. Yup I am Aaron. Developed this app over the weekend because I am a regular user of gothere.sg and would like to have something that is close to iPhone's app look and feel, such as auto complete while entering address and get current location.
And thanks for your feedback, I will make some changes to the "enable GPS" dialog.
Cheers!

Please follow them. Using iOS design cues for an Android app makes it look out of place.

It is an android wrapper app to gothere iPhone web interface. They do not open up their API so there is no way for me to build a 100% native app.
It is a free to download application done over weekend by a hobbyist to help fellow android users, not sure where the hostility come from. Feel free to remove post or ban me if deem necessary, sorry for the huge inconvenience. =)
Cheers mate.
