Looking for a Nanny

Post by CGS » Sun, 09 Sep 2012 11:16 pm

Hello all,

I've just arrived to Singapore yesterday with my 2y old and my 7 months kids. As you may know there are a tonne of things to do, so I need a nanny asap.

I've seen some of the previous chats in this forum, very helpful but they seem a bit outdated.

Does anyone know of any good nanny company? (not a maid who can take care of your kids). Or even better, any nanny you can refer to me?

Many thanks

Please do not create multiple posts on the same subject. Your other post has been deleted and the thread moved/linked to the other sub-forum.

CGS,

Please be extremely carefully when people solicit services via PM rather than on the open board. We give recommendations openly here, but some have different agendas and try shady stuff via the PM facility. We do not recommend anybody who solicits without being recommended by a satisfied user. Do so at your own discretion.

But surely if a regular sends a PM to recommend someone, it should be safe to assume the opposite right? Plus I'm not sure if it is safe to put out a third party's contact details out in open, hence the PM.

If it's a legitimate business, e.g., completely above board, yeah, who's gonna refuse a recommendation? If they don't want recommendations, I would have to be suspecting that something is not quite above board, or the person is advertising themselves under cover. Just because the solicitor is a regular doesn't mean anything. Some of our regulars have tried to advertise home meals services to our readers without paying for advertising as well. That was the reason for my post. one of them has a history already. I go back a long, long way on this board.

Thanks, you are totally right. I got a few private message already suggesting their sister, etc...
Reading previous forum conversations and asking people at my wife's work place, they have recomended a number or agencies which apparently have qualifed nanny's.

Cheers
