PEP- Online vs Manual & details

Post by rajesh.sg » Fri, 07 Sep 2012 4:19 pm

Hello Folks,

I am thinking of applying for PEP. My profile is as below:
1. I am on P2 EP pass for just over two years now
2. Did my masters from one of the Institutions of Higher Learning in SG before that
3. Income tax assessee for three years
4. Engg Bachelors from India, close to 6 year work exp overall bw India & SG.
5. Married, Wife on DP, working on LOC for close to two years.

Would welcome your expert thoughts and opinions on the following:

1. Does a manual PEP application has any higher probability of success? The reason am asking is that there are more details like highest degree qualification etc on manual paper PEP application form but on the online form the details reqd seems to be lesser. (There is an initial system check criteria done in order to file electronically)

2. Is there any unsaid rule/criteria about average salary a successful PEP applicant should draw (I guess more the better chances-but any thumb rule?)

3. What are the pros and cons of Manual Application and Online Application?

4. I was trying to see some statistics on the number of PEP and number of applications vs approved etc, but found none. Any rough idea on this?

Any suggestions or tips to aid an successful PEP application is most welcome!

Thanks & Regards.

I cannot think of any Pros in a manual submission. If they need any additional information, they will, be assured, ask you for it. That can also be uploaded online unless they specifically request you to come in to show them the original docs if required.

Thanks for your response! Since one qualifying criteria for PEP mentions about graduates from Institutions of higher learning, I hope that would fetch some brownie points for the PEP application.

However the online PEP application doesn't require the section for education to be filled in unlike the manual application form which does contain the section, hence my query.
