Hoshi Japanese Restaurant, IMM, Jurong East. Despite the name and the menu nobody goes here for the Japanese food (which is crap), but the steamboat is good. Simple format: pay your $15/head or so (exact varies for lunch/dinner and weekday/weekend), get your pot boiling and head out to grab stuff from the buffet, which covers all the Singaporean favorites with a few token Japanese items thrown in (udon etc). Cook, eat, repeat. Particularly good if going with just one or two friends, because you can sample all you want.

There's one steamboat place at & storey hotel (opp bugis Junction) they use traditional way of steamboat.

Another I like is at Suntec. they call it the mini pot steamboat. each of us gets a pot to cook in. I like their Tom Yam soup.

There is a superb buffet steamboat shop at beach road #01-02.......The soup base there has a total of 4 different types including tom yum etc.
Really irresistable man....u should tryout there

*note: there is 2 steamboat shops there.. it is the $15 per person that is highly recommended! *

Steamboat for recommendation!

I like one at Sempang Bedok (the one with Shop & Save). Their soups (chicken & tom yum) is unique and tasty, don't feel thristy after drinking it.

Their handmade balls are very tasty, prawns extremely fresh and crunchy!

I will patronise the shop every week. They did not have much advertisement but it's highly recommended!

They even import Japanese wok for BBQ!

Gd food at economical price!

Steamboat at East Coast

Post by okuspokus » Wed, 15 Aug 2007 11:13 am

There's one SteamBoat at East Coast Park (Mc Donald area, in front of the stage), it's quite nice and it's $14/ppl if I remember correctly, and you eat as much as you can.
