Hello all!
I just read this on-line and hoped to get some thoughts on it; can it really be true...
According to latest figures from the office for national statistics, an average of 4800 Britons are leaving every week. This means a quarter of a million people are leaving the UK every year.
If it is true, it makes you wonder how many are coming to Singapore too, right?
Amii (back after a long break!) x

That's a large figure. I suspect the figures have been massaged to show the country that they need immigrants, as currently there is a lot of hostility towards immigrants.

Thanks for your reply NN!
I've been looking into it too and I've now found this...
The study found that the amount of Expats working in Singapore has gone up 18% over the last five years, while those moving to Western Europe decreased by 27% during the same period.... The total percentage increase of Expats heading to China and Singapore was 22% over the past five years. In 2006/7 there were 31,160 Expats working in China, which rose to 38,000 in 2010/11, while the number of Expats in Singapore has increased from 40,180 to 49,000 over the same period.

That's just astonishing right? Or is it just me?!!!
What do you think has spurred the hostility towards immigrants NN?

Bye-Bye Amii,
You seem to be doing nothing but pasting links to Prycewarner here and elsewhere all over the web.

Going by the 2 forums that I moderate, and one is a specialty forum, I would be afraid to hazard a guess, I know our database of locked accounts here, numbers into the thousands I think.
