I refused to hand over my last payslips to the local HR manager for a large MNC oil and service company. My view is that;
1. I'm bound by the original confidentiality agreement with my previous employer which specifically includes not disclosing salary levels.
2. If they want a professional they surely have some idea of what the position is worth - they can make an offer and we can go from there.
IT's not great loss - the next company to offer was a UK based on and we sorted out the pay level in 5 minutes on the phone.
I basically despise local HR managers here anyways.
