excuse my lack of unix knowledge. ive tried and successfully failed using any of the linux distros, tried to install red hat a few years back, but to no avail.

personally, i switch between windows and osx on a daily basis.

Actually OS X is a full blown Unix. iOS is derived from OS X. Samsung devices run on Android that is also a Unix like system. Both the systems include part of free, open-source code so all together the IP situation is IMHO pretty complex.

They actually hired the lockinfo (and I think Wifi sync) developer(s) to make those features for them.

please go and do some research. the lockinfo developer (david ashman) was not hired by apple. but instead another person who developed a similar app.

as for wifisync not only was the app outright rejected, and then released in the next version with no credit to the original pommy developer.

i dare anyone to say with a straight face that they did not get at least some aspiration from the jailbreak community.

So is there a point to this thread, or is it just another trendy 'let's bash on Apple while we ignore or make excuses for all of the flaws in Android' thread? Honestly there are hundreds of forums with thousands of threads on just this topic. Do we really need to talk about it here? I think I'd actually prefer some more 'I've got my masters and want to know the percentage chance of getting a PR' threads.

I didn't actually expect anyone to kill the thread for me, but just wanted to make myself heard like all of the people in here with extremely low expectations for their smart phone to do as long as they win the penis measurement competition. (There, an anti-Samsung jab )
