Briton ‘paid’ to get molest charge dropped - would you?

Isn't this a weird, judiciary approved form of bribery?

Doesn't it ultimately lead to more women cooking up these claims to get money?

Would you pay or fight it in court? This is really a warning to be extra careful in the Boat/Clarke/Robertson Quay areas as well that some woman might brush up against you and claim molestation.

Well the victims themselves allowed to be paid for private settlement. I guess that says a lot :-|

I would rather see it as judiciary assisted opportunistic prostitution.

It's been a scam in Singapore for quite a few years now. Singaporean women are getting pretty good at it. Worst part is, a lot of western men never learned how to talk to a girl without trying to paw her at the same time, after they've had a couple of drinks. Girls here have learned it's a quick way to a new Prada Bag. How to prostitute yourself without prostituting yourself! :(

Actually it's not so much SC girls as a lot of others as well. I personally think it's disgraceful that the police don't proceed with charges if there is a case but allow it to be settled in this manner.

Love the comments on the page!

I wouldn't grope someone, so, if I was taken to court, I'd fight it all the way!

Agreed. However these girls seem good at spotting newbies to Singapore who need to go offshore the next day and don't have time to fight a court case. BTW - not cool to abuse the SPF officers.

If both parties agree to it, why not? Sure some may abuse the system, but hey, welcome to the 21st century. everything is abused around here.

I wonder what would happen if I complained to the police that some woman had groped me in OT?

Well, I'm not smart enough not to understand feminism, but as for gender equality . . .

Yeah, I figure that would happen in UK, but in SG? Do you think they'd take it more seriously?

Not if it's anything like they treated me when I complained about domestic violence by my ex wife on me.
