PR renewed for 10 years! common or not?

Post by offshoreoildude » Sat, 18 Aug 2012 6:32 pm

I renewed my PR a year or so ago for the 3rd time I believe. The Malay ICA lady asked me if I wanted 10 years - I said 'sure!' - she asked if I had a letter showing I was employed w my income and I said yes - she gave me a 10 year renewal on the spot. Is this common in other posters experience?

Not too common, except for long stayers. But as I noted in the other thread. They are no more. Mine was also one of the last. Now ALL are five year only. And yeah, the officer told me the exact same thing at the time.
