What would you look out for when you're shopping for a reading lamp?

I am presently using an Ikea desk lamp with its 40watt bulb. It gives off a soft yellowish light. Reading under its light gets my eyes tired after a while, everytime.

Any information would be most appreciated!

No wonder selling spectacles is such a thriving business in Singapore.
