Reading Light Recommendations?

Postby AminoAcid » Mon, 13 Aug 2012 3:58 pm

What would you look out for when you're shopping for a reading lamp?

I am presently using an Ikea desk lamp with its 40watt bulb. It gives off a soft yellowish light. Reading under its light gets my eyes tired after a while, everytime.

Any information would be most appreciated!

No wonder selling spectacles is such a thriving business in Singapore.

Thanks

A desk lamp is best utilised when it has an opaque shade and the light is pointed directly at the material being read. If it is placed over the shoulder, the light can create a glare on the material and cause eyestrain. I haven't purchased from them personally (yet) https://traeproducts.com/ but I am planning on buying some lights from them. They have answered my questions by email promptly.
