Hi All,
First let me apologise if the information I am requesting is somewhere on this site already. I only joined the forum today, have had a little look around and cannot see any topics that match what I need.
I moved to Singapore on 20th April and officially started my employment here on 1st May on an EP. I am trying to estimate what tax I will pay for 2012.
I think that if I have been living in Singapore for more than 183 days this year I will be subject to the graduated tax rates rather than the flat rate for foreigners. I am assuming that any time spent travelling out of the country on business does not count. So out of a possible 245 days I could be living here in 2012 I estimate I will have been travelling for 45 days so will still qualify for the 183 day rule.
Is that correct?
Many Thanks
Steve

Did you bother to read the sticky at the top of this very forum?

To save you time. Once you are on an EP, you time starts there and continues, regardless whether you are in or out of the country as long as you are still on the EP.

Please accept my apologies, I tried to open that link but it didn't work.
I assumed it was an out of date link but it looks like a problem with my browser.
Thank you for the information.
