My holiday is a bit snafu'd. Just warded my wife in a cardiac unit at TTSH with problems. She had a rather long stent inserted in April 2010 but has never really recovered like she wanted (even though I'd told her she cannot continue like she did before). She had pains in the chest & left arm all the way to her fingertips and as she said, around a 9 out of 10 so away we went. Put on a patch on her chest that managed to eventually give her some relief but as the doc said, that little patch's relief indicated that the problem is heart oriented. Heading back in a few minutes as soon as they send me the ward/room #.

Lucky for those in Singapore now - you enjoy a free day. I'm overseas now for work so I still have to work even if it's a holiday there in Singapore!

Enjoy your NDP fireworks! :)

@sms:

I hope your wife gets better soon. There's been too much stress for her the past few months.

Just got back from the hospital. Talked with the doc and we also spoke with her previous doc via phone. Seems she had a minor heart attack and they are suspecting blockage of the arteries. She had a splint put in 2 years ago and now they are going to go in to see if they can see how bad and if the blockage is baloonable or whether she will need a bypass. This is turning to shit real fast!

Something for an eye (although I believe you can see the fireworks clearly in TV)

SMS, hope your wife is fine and whatever she needs done is done quickly and she recovers fast. My old man had a bypass 15 years ago and is still going as strong as an Ox, it's certainly not the end of the world, although, there is a tough time ahead. Stay strong, you know where I am if you need anything.

I'm currently in the invasive cardiac laboratory at TTSH as the wife is currentlyundergoing an angioplasty. Whether she will get by with a balloon of another stent I won't know until it's over. If they determine that she needs a bypass it will probably be scheduled for early next week unless something goes wrong and needs an emergency bypass. Got my fingers crossed.
