Multiple application for work permit

Post by sandqiu » Mon, 06 Aug 2012 8:52 pm

Hi guys,

My S pass application got rejected and my company have submitted an appeal letter, now I have to wait at least 4 weeks. I have been unemployed for quite a while now and my friends and sister have been asking why don't you apply for another job while waiting for your s pass?

Is it possible to have another company apply S pass / any other work permit for me while I am actually waiting for an S pass applied by my current company ?

I feel bad just sitting around waiting for my pass, I need to get a job fast :(

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Alvin

Question: Which pass do you currently have to remain in Singapore? Or are you out of the country? That could make it hard to look for other jobs.

If you're here, then yes, try and apply. If you get a better offer (more $$$), you have a better chance when you apply for the pass.

Hi,

I'm currently on SVP.
Yes I am here but the thing is, is it perfectly fine to have more than one company submit S PASS Application for me concurrently ? Because I am waiting for the Result / status for my S pass application from company A.
Is it okay for me to while waiting go and find another company and let company B or C or D apply S pass for me too?

Thank you !

No. Before you have some other company apply for an employment pass you need to get your former company to withdraw the appeal. Otherwise, you will throw a spanner in the works like you wouldn't believe. I see people do that and have it take six months to get it resolved. Needless to say, the jobs didn't wait around that long. So, if you have potential prospects, I'd suggest you hotfoot it to your former employer and beg them to withdraw the appeal.
