Don't worry. Our laws are not that strict. MOM are lenient to those pregnant. I know of someone who breaks the Work Permit requirements on not getting pregnant and can leave and come Singapore as and when she likes. So it definitely not like the gloomy picture you painted.

Yeah. I can give you a good example of the Government lieniency. My Nephew and his girlfriend got married because she had gotten pregnant. They went to the ROM and got married without any problem and had the baby in Singapore and she was given a one year LTVP as the wife of a Singaporean. When it came time to renew her LTVP the baby was not quite one year old. (in fact the baby was only around 6 months old). The ICA told her that because she had once worked on a WP here (many years before - She had a college degree in reality) she didn't get permission from the MOM to get married, but yet the ROM married them. So she was sent packing back to the 'peens. She took the baby with her but after one year there the 'peens said the baby was only a Singapore Citizen as they didn't bother to get Philipines citizenship for the child. Therefore after one year the father, An NS man, had to fly to the 'peens to get the child. That happened 9 years ago. The baby hasn't seen the mother in all that time and the baby, now 10 and in sec 3 has been living with me all those years (my grand-niece). (The father up to a couple of months ago lived with me as well, but I had to make him move out due to his penchant for borrowing money from the wrong people. I finally got tired of it and figured I better throw him out before I kill some debt collector. The wife still is not allowed to return to Singapore (I reckon it would have been a different story if she had a male pup instead of a female one). So yeah, it's a bed of roses here.InJusticeDaniel wrote:Don't worry. Our laws are not that strict. MOM are lenient to those pregnant. Ya, now I realised it. Because a work permit holder can get pregnant even before approval of marriage to Singaporean. Is able to stay in Singapore and give birth. They get caught but still able to stay in here and give birthsundaymorningstaple wrote:I think you will find that FDW and FWs are treated differently when it comes to pregnancy.Col Tan 91 wrote:Then why are there laws for work permit not able to get pregnant. Just take away that law then. I think is not fair for those who are work permit are pregnant and get ban for entering and some are not like for this case.
