work permit holder pregnant, chances of relocating in sg

Post by iheartsingapore » Thu, 02 Aug 2012 12:15 am

Hi

Against time, need real help.

Firstly, thank you in advance all the help i am going to get.

Work Permit Holder Pregnant about 5 weeks.
Checked in to KK Hospital to check for baby's health after testing positive in local clinic.
From PRC, work here under waiter/waitress.
Worked for 5 months so far.

I am still studying.

Questions,

1 - Will she be able to give birth in Singapore, as i want it to be a singapore baby? she will cancel her wp and go back before coming back.

2 - if she cancels and come back, on what pass should she be on? eg, social visit then stamp in msia before extending another 30days?

2.1 - if she goes back and come back, will she be checked in custom for pregnancy or through any application as she has a record in KK Hospital.

3 - is it possible for her to give birth in singapore AND stay here for long cause we are not in a hurry to be together(married in the eyes of law), sooner the better but no rush. and someone has to vouch for her to stay or LTSVP right?

real against time.

many thanks

So ...... you are one of those shotgun......ah ?

1 - Will she be able to give birth in Singapore, as i want it to be a singapore baby? she will cancel her wp and go back before coming back.

You need to apply thru ICA permission to give birth in SG

2 - if she cancels and come back, on what pass should she be on? eg, social visit then stamp in msia before extending another 30days?

Max 30 days... Visa runs to JB or Batam will be an absolutely and astoundingly STUPID idea

2.1 - if she goes back and come back, will she be checked in custom for pregnancy or through any application as she has a record in KK Hospital.

All Airlines has a guideline rules of MTB not allowed to board the plane once they touch Third Trimester or the oven is so huge that it practically falls off her feet

3 - is it possible for her to give birth in singapore AND stay here for long cause we are not in a hurry to be together(married in the eyes of law), sooner the better but no rush. and someone has to vouch for her to stay or LTSVP right?

Now, this is an interesting question. As you have not stated your rights to reside in SG and I am guessing you are SGer. The answer is NO !!
First of all, since she is on WP she cannot get pregnant esp to a local or PR. She will be deported faster than Speedy Gonzales !!
If you are not local , her WP will still be canceled either way once she is pregnant.
To get married she needs to seek permission to MOM and you must be able to support her in Sg with a min. income to $2.8K
Your problems is not only on the pregnancy but the whole shebang itself
Should have zipped up your shotgun and locked it before spraying bullets

Expected delivery date

If the spouse of the Foreign Worker is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident, please attach a copy of the marriage certificate and the spouse's Identity Card (NRIC) in the notification to us.

If the spouse of the Foreign Worker is an Employment Pass or S Pass holder, please indicate the Foreign Identification Number or Work Permit number of the spouse in the notification.

dodrio,

Not good advice to give. The fact that YOU managed to get it doesn't mean that is the way it is in general. We know for a fact that ICA "normally" requires 2.8K minimum for support purposes. Yours is a one off type of deal. So you should emphasize that it is, on rare occasions, possible if one is of exemplary character and probably Chinese to boot.

From your name, I suspected it could be a Filipina.

From what I know performing artists aren't subject to same rules as work pass.

Your bigger problem will be leaving Philippines without any drama by BI.

It gets worse if the baby doesn't have the father when departing.

And if the father travels along, Singapore immigration too will be less trouble.

By the way, as a former performing artist, marrying your boyfriend will not guarantee any long term pass or PR here.

Your chances are extremely low being tagged with your former pass.

DH is also WP.

Lot of jobs are WP.

So, yes, it's possible for some categories of WP.

Then why are there laws for work permit not able to get pregnant. Just take away that law then. I think is not fair for those who are work permit are pregnant and get ban for entering and some are not like for this case.

I think you will find that FDW and FWs are treated differently when it comes to pregnancy.

Have you can talk to PM Lee about it ?

Also ask why he don't want to repeal 377A ?
