Applying PR under Spouse of SPR

Post by g073n » Wed, 01 Aug 2012 6:26 pm

Hi,

this is my first post on this forum. (hello from newbie :D)
ok, currently I am planning to apply PR and according to ICA website there is 4 way to have it.
since by wife is PR already, I am thinking to use 'Spouse of SPR' scheme when applying.
however, am I liable to do NS if my PR was granted under this scheme ?
has any one been called up for NS ?

I'm 28 years old, holding EP Q1 pass, and have been staying here for 3+ years.

TIA

They will consider the fact that you are here and qualified as well as having family ties. Odds are you will get it, however, better odds if you are chinese from Malaysia or Indonesia. If you are from China or India, lesser chances. But ICA will consider the fact that you are eligible both ways. If you are given it on Family Ties, as you are under 30, yeah, you have to register and yeah, they could call you up for NS. However, most get a waiver, but you still have to register for NS first and take that gamble.

However, if you get your PR based on your EP, then you will not have to do NS. The gamble is yours.
