My love is singapore PR and i am a tourist

Post by mech.dax » Sun, 29 Jul 2012 5:15 pm

Dear all

I am a 27 yr old Indian national, having a bachelors degree in Mech Engg, and 2.5 yrs work ex in india. I love a girl, and she is a Singapore PR holder, and has been in singapore for the past eight years. She is a malaysian, 30, and is only high school passout. She works as a quality technician and doesn't earn much. but we love each other alot and plan to marry soon.

My question is, if i marry her while i am on a tourist visa, is there any chance of me getting PR or LTVP. i dont want to end in similar troubling situations like many ppl here, who are finding it hard to be with their loved ones.

I even plan to study MBA from singapore (prob from MDIS), so will i have a chance then, if i marry her when i am on a student pass.

Any help or info would be appreciated.

Unless she is making over 3K/mo the odds are you will not be able to get a LTVP because she has to show that she can support you. However, there is nothing stopping you from getting married. You would be better off waiting until yo can gain your own EP and then marrying her. But of course, that is your choice as finding a position whereby you CAN gain an EP may be hard to come by as well.
