PR sole rep - how can my UK employer pay my CPF?

Post by offshoreoildude » Tue, 24 Jul 2012 6:46 pm

Sole rep for a UK company. Currently no entity in town - most of the work is in Thailand and Indo ATM. Employer in the UK wants to be legally correct and I want my CPF (although they will pay the gross amount if necessary). HOW can they pay my CPF (employee and employer contribution) from the UK? Are there companies that can bill them for the payroll and pay me and CPF? As I'm a PR, I don't need a work pass etc, just way to pay both EE and ER CPF?

CPF by overseas employer

hey offshoreoildude,

Yes you are right. Your UK employer does need to pay CPF. It is sufficient do do so for your remuneration related to work performed in Singapore, remaining CPF contribution for work performed in Indonesia & Thailand is voluntary. There are companies that provide this service, or your UK company can directly register as a CPF paying employer and pay the CPF due by international bank transfer each month.

Hi - thanks for your help! Can I pay the CPF EE/ER myself directly to the CPF board?

CPF payment by overseas employer

Post by togeorgemathew » Sun, 05 Aug 2012 11:48 pm

Hi,

The CPF board is not concerned with which individual or entity is making the payment as long as it is clearly indicated for which entity the payment is for.
So yes you could make the payment.

The main thing here being that the company must register with CPF and receive an employer number. And secondly that each month a statement is submitted to CPF board of dues. Then the cheque can be a personal cheque referencing the Employers CPF number and month being paid for.
