Post by Dovaro » Tue, 24 Jul 2012 2:27 pm

I am aware that the Employment pass maximum period for first timers is usually 2 years but why in the Employment Pass application form they mentioned up to 60 month (5 years)

Duration of Pass Applied for:................................ (up to 60 months)

You can ASK for up to 60 months - doesn't mean you'll GET.

I applied my first EP for 1 year. As for the second EP, 2 years. That's after a series of discussion with the HR guys :D

Dovaro, It depends on who you work for and what you are bringing to the table.

Go back and reread my first post. Then let me know if there were some words there that you do not understand.

Me personally? No. I don't know those types of people anyway as they probably travel in lot higher circles than I do. I reckon there might be some working in A-Star and/or DSO as these would be research types headhunted by the government themselves.

But if it's there in black & white, somebody is benefiting you can be sure.

Used to be you could get either a 5 or 10 year REP (re-entry permit for PRs). Nobody had heard of getting a 10 year one even though both boxes used to be on the REP renewal form. (I got one). Now, it's no longer on the form and you can no longer get a 10 year REP.
