Travel to Batam & Second Entry on In-Principle approval?

Post by okdone » Sat, 21 Jul 2012 1:46 am

Hello,

I actually made the mistake of booking the complete travel to Batam while my wife is still having In-Principle letter only. We are yet to apply for the DP and collect it. \

Now the IPA letter mentions something like "Single Journey Entry" visa. So does this mean we'll have to cancel our booking altogether? Or is it possible that we can get a travel VISA somehow at immigration?

I know it was a mistake and I should have checked it before. Rather we should have completed the whole process and collected DP first. But right now, please advise if there is any alternative.

Depend on your nationality, you may not need a visa to enter Singapore, if you are from a country that requires visa to enter Singapore such as China, you need to obtain a multiple entry visa in order to return to Singapore after your trip

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. About "you need to obtain a multiple entry visa in order to return to Singapore after your trip"...... Means we can get it after the trip? So we can still go for travel? We are from India so we definitely need a visa to enter Singapore.

My suggestion? Leave her in Singapore and go enjoy yourself. It might be the last time you have for a long, long time. Maybe someone with come up to you and say, "me lub you long time, john"

Batam is close enough and cheap enough to go any time, so just do what SMS said above.

Hahaha.... that's indeed a great thought to be SMS, seriously I thought of it. But I guess being happy is not the only thing we humans are born for  ...... so the trip was luckily postponed 3 weeks. The lady at travel office was very helpful to do that.

Immigration guys (ICA helpline) clarified that we will need a fresh Visa. The IPA letter is just for single entry use. It was very much not possible to get the Visa the same day(particularly when its a Saturday - half day, and next day its Sunday). So its better not take chances, if not postpone- rather cancel it. :-|

Thank you very much guys O:)
